Lots are lost in sandy places but lads still work them, but you learn how to work your area. most mistake lads do on rock spots is get to near them stand plenty back if the Fox hears you he will push as far in as he can thats when you have trouble, stand back stay quiet an let the dog work the pile

I work mine in and on the rocks there's something about the rocks that excite me watch a bolt from the rock and crag is something else iv not got digging dogs but in the rock their worth their wait in gold and a lot of lads with good/decant digging dogs wouldn't enter them in the rocks we had a young bitch stuck season before last in a crack under a big slab we had her out but I had to push myself in hook the bitchs collar with the bar and the huntsman and another lad pulled us both out by my feet

I've seen all sizes of terriers working rocks if the dogs got it in them they will find...i like hard dogs for the rocks ...just my preference don't want to be ther days listening to a yapper that doesn't mix because Charlie will sit ther tucked up .. Yes I lost a very good bitch in the rock few years ago she hit them hard an them that dident bolt she would pop out after they was dead...had 7 good seasons with her but because of her working style I sadly lost her I dug for days trying to get down to were I last herd her only to find a dead fox.. Never saw here again .. But been working piles for nearly 20 years and only lost one terrier in piles..had some epic rescue s to in them but for me carnt beat them..
