With ye all the way, Nell. Only the industry standard says that, " If ye can get a pencil through the hole ~ so can a mouse get through. "

Now I'd say " Bull Shit!!! " to such a statement. Figuring it'd have to be a mouse so young and small it shouldn't even be about and crawling. But there's always the one ..... And, in my game, if ye've just spent some quality time assuring a client that ye using " Humane " traps ..... then they say there's a throttled rat?! Not like ye some Gamekeeper, deep within his own Preserve, who can just shrug and think, " Well I'll be ..! Never seen That before! "

I've got a photo of a mouse doing what a mouse 'shouldn't' be capable of doing. It got into a Rat cage and tried to get out. Makes me fussy ;)

Whole Laws are often enough based on the 'One in a Million' things these days. I personally aim to avoid even that stupid level, where ever possible. That's why I'm so fussy and eager to learn

WELL LADS ,

I FIND THAT YES AS MILLET HAS SAID THE COLD WEATHER HAS THEM MOVING ........... HOWEVER I THINK THE WET WEATHER GETS RATS SHIFTING FROM THE HEDGE BACKS ......... HEAVY RAIN = RATS IN MY FENNS AND BENDER SNARES

NO DOUBT ITS THE FRESH GREASE RUN THEY ARE FOLLOWING SINCE THERES NO FOOD , THOUGH NOW THERES A TRAIL YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS FOR A GOOD WHILE

Found out that the local grain/ feed mill has recently had a flood in the augre basement and i'm not the only one within a half mile to have rat visitors .

Is there any way of setting up a whip on hard surface? -eg concrete floor.

The traps are quiet for a moment but there is fresh tracks in the sand

Ahhh i see, ive been told about a simular method for pheasants :)

Thinking of making one of them snares out of fishing line though :)

Leon

i think you would be better making your rat snares out of two strands of brass rabbit snare wire , or thin stainless steel either one or two strands , the rats can bite through two strands of brass , but not the stainless wire ,
