borderterrier 0
Ive been asked by a friend if i would be interested in shooting rabbits on the Golf course he plays on. (the last chap died at the start of the year) Just curious to know if anyone on here has shot rabbits on golf courses, and was/is there much more hassle compared to farm land. Obviously after dark is more practical than daylight hours, if for no other reason than to avoid the Pringle clad bores. Would be interested in any comments. Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
I have shot rabbits as well as quite a few foxes off golf courses..................never had any hassle at all , but we always lamped the courses as it really needs to be done when no-one else is around for safety reasons obviuosly. We always called at the clubhouse and let the staff know we were out ...........had some really good nights shooting as well. Better off shooting the rabbits on a really dark windy night though as with the greens being very short I have found after the rabbits have been lamped once they very quickly learn the danger and depart very quickly!! Good luck !! Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Yep agree with foxy,s points, me and cragman do one, which has been very productive in the past, its lamping only, and its air rifle only, i wouldnt use a rimmy on a golf course full stop, some nights are good, some bloody awful, they are strange places.
