Done some ratting and starting to bush. Plenty of people ask about them on here. £400. Plus a working border terrier below that. Might be of use to someone. Quote Link to post
Guest Navek
Only thing outing people off the plumbers or any terrier for that matter would probly be the fact that if it drops to ground while bushing then there going AV to get a bellman and that's 400 for a terrier and then 300 or 350 for locator so ads up to around 700 to 750 think that's why the spaniel x terriers are more Coman now .less chance of dropping in and can be picked up for 100 to 150 However I no that paying 750 isn't a problem for some people for a bushing dog as it will give years of service to the owner but if there willing pay 100,s of pounds to get a busher mite aswell get a full spanie wi h has almost 99% chance it never going to ground A terrier sure does has its place in a bushing team and I no your bitch puts plenty in front of your runners and one what doesn't drop to ground is worth its weigh in gold Plus he wants 400 each for them..be safer to buy a pup for same money then buyer noes exactly what the dogs done Quote Link to post

Well each to there own mate but I don't believe that for a second..I no a lad who had a terrier bitch steady as anything never whent to ground but would mark .. She then started droping in regular after rabbits. I thought he was lucky that it didn't do it for as long as it did .. I've herd to many story's of wonder dogs all ways been let down when it came to the show so now I believe what I see..and that don't mean pictures Quote Link to post

Plucky1 1,119
Plummers from a decent working line are easy to train and are genuine all round terriers, mine will mark every occupied hole be it rat, fox, rabbit, badger, stoat or anything else, raising them from a pup it is easy to move them on from the quarry we are not hunting, I have done the same with patt crosses and russells so nothing to exaggerated or far fetched , if it is not in your capabilities then stick to just slipping a terrier off a lead upon arriving at an earth, it is you that are limiting what your terriers can do, most are capable of more than just earthwork, WM 1 Quote Link to post
Wales1234 5,546
Until I see a dog marking a fox earth and not entering until told I honestly won't believe it Quote Link to post
