Chris you are talking sense as usual

He is, I just want to see good kids doing well and stay away from it, maybe ones trying it to be cool realises it isn't cool n stop, all the wee idiots that get hooked and do fuk all other than be idiots and cause trouble, fuk them, they will just use it to start with before they start using everything else they can get eventually ending up on smack

Yeh I agree, no doubt a lot of these kids are a product of their environment. Where I grew up, smoking weed was in no way a prerequisite to a fcuked up life.

I hate to repeat myself on here, but I know lads that were smoking weed in bus shelters at 16, but are on 6 figure salary's today & still like the odd smoke, but they had a good upbringing as well!

Yous do all know that so many more young folk will start this nasty "habit" if it's made legal sold in cafes shops ect don't yous? Not good imo, fuk the revenue man all it will do is chew up the money that they don't have

It already is chewing up the money we don't have.

A good kid with hopes and dreams won't smoke it because they don't want to break the law for a start, here where I am it's all the wee neds as we call them that do it, in fact where I live these days all the young cool fit kids look down on the neds that drink and smoke weed, changed days, it's not cool
Why do keep on about young kids

If regulated it won't be sold to young kids

And since young kids can already get hold of it regulating it can only improve things

What would the age be? I go on about young kids because I've got young kids and don't want weed being made out to be a accepted thing
That would be for experts to decide but a minimum would be 18

You wouldn't have anywhere near the amount t of illegal dealers since a lot do it to their mates

If it's legal all that disappears

Then you make penalties a lot harsher for dealers

Where it's decriminalised or legal it doesn't suddenly go through the roof in people doing it it stays the same

But I agree kids or minors shouldn't get near it

If the gov are the sellers then money will be the main aim just like the wee guy down the road who sells it, do you really think they will try to put young folk of trying it? Will they fuk.

18 would have to be minimum, I'd go so far as 21 even?

I think the bigger worry is the synthetics like spice that's flooding the streets now .

That's a huge concern over here too. Again if someone could only find a huge influx of money to tackle the issue.

Parents have a huge responsibility in all of this. How many parents leave the educating to the state though? :hmm:

If all kids have are their peers then we're part of the problem...

Most of the glamor in it for teens here made towards weed imo comes a lot from the USA, stars like snoop dog wiz khalifa ect all making out that it's cool to smoke weed as much as possible or whenever they want. Is it illegal in the states to smoke?

Sorry chap there's loads out there about the harm alcohol does

And yes parenting is very much the key

I know parents who leave everything to the school

Including teaching swimming and if the school doesn't do it they don't get it

Society is very much at fault

Exactly, my parents were very concerned about what I was up to, they worried, loved & cared & gave me a good grounding of right & wrong. I think that's one of the many reasons why I've never let things slip out of control.....

It's not going to irradicate the problem but it will lessen it and allocate resources to deal with the remainder.

You're all talking sense on this thread, I'm out of likes today though ;-)

It's been a very interesting and engaging thread I'll concur! ;)

The government aren't the experts. If they were we wouldn't have the problem. I'm sure there are plenty of people better qualified to buy/sell/trade pharmaceuticals... Remember those folks that work at the chemists? :hmm:

It's the taxation that the government need to address and that should require it's own laws and regulations so that the money doesn't get spunked on something else.

Have you ever tried weed Lukey?

Never mate, I was too scared of my da to go home stoned. Never really fancied it anyways, sat with mates from a young age watching them getting stoned, spewing, sitting like fukin idiots trying to be cool. I grew up around drug addiction in a really bad area in Glasgow and they ones who ended up junkies were the same ones who sat as teens smoking weed, the ones who were all too worried about trying it because it was wrong all seem to be doing well ect. Maybe that's why I'm so against it
