downtown at the minute, first shop I spotted 5 minutes from the parliament building advertised itself as selling glass, looked in the window no bongs, pipes or suchlike in sight, but there were counters and lots of customers, maybe 12-15 people milling around at the back of the store, all ages, even an office bod in a decent suit, the smell inside was Dutch coffee shop with an undertone of Canadian entrepreneurship,I just found their online price list, there are around 30 dispensaries at the moment in the city,it's the grey dawn before legalization next spring.

Only just jumping on this thread, but for those asking how do they grow in our climate, it depends on the lattitude you're at, but if you want hardy strains look up hybrids from hell or Dutch passion, only where it's legal though of course

Hybrids from hell are pretty crap to be honest mate, wouldnt reccommend them at all, esben operates an open pollination pollicy and i believe he outsources his seed making now,not like when he originally started out back in the Overgrow.com days,go canadian if your after decent UK results.
The Canadian genetics are hard enough for cold, but it's the wet that's the problem, and the mildew and bud rot that comes with it that's the main issue for UK latts, especially up north, but hey what do I know it's illegal over here!!!
our latitude is pretty much the same here as it is in Canada, we get pretty much the same amount of daylight unless you're up in the artic parts of Canada. It's the gulf stream that moderates our temperature.

http://fox6now.com/2017/02/23/sean-spicer-states-could-see-greater-enforcement-of-federal-law-against-marijuana/

WASHINGTON The White House said Thursday it expects law enforcement agents to enforce federal marijuana laws when they come into conflict with states where recreational use of the drug is permitted.

I do believe you will see greater enforcement of it, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said regarding federal drug laws, which still list marijuana as an illegal substance.

It's going to be interesting to see how this develops and how the recreational legal states respond to federal enforcement. It could end up having an impact on other states moving towards legalising recreational use and the global legalisation movement if we have a US administration hostile towards the idea of legalisation.

Well this is pretty huge news...

The Liberal government will announce legislation next month that will legalize marijuana in Canada by July 1, 2018.

CBC News has learned that the legislation will be announced during the week of April 10 and will broadly follow the recommendation of a federally appointed task force that was chaired by former liberal Justice Minister Anne McLellan.

Bill Blair, the former Toronto police chief who has been stickhandling the marijuana file for the government, briefed the Liberal caucus on the roll-out plan and the legislation during caucus meetings this weekend.
