Training has to go on mate ......

Training has to be as close to the real thing as possible otherwise you are not going to be prepared for going into battle ... Iraq and Afghanistan heat is punishingly hot ... Add your osprey body arm

ffs mate this is the army not boy scouts , tragic as it may be shit happens

Will they ever learn?

TC

it separates the men from the boys, you need the best for special forces and I can't see how else to test in this country other than barren, hot or cold wet conditions pushed to your limits, the enemy will not stop just because its a hot day , they will run you down, its then you will know how far you can go, always sad to see a lad die but thats the process unfortunately, RIP, WM

Just as an FYI but this lad wasn't on an SF course, he was infantry.

Gutting, a young lad with his whole life ahead of him and he was obviously trying to make something of himself. As said though they need to be trained and tested and unfortunately sometimes tragedies like this occur

RIP Joshua.

It's an awful shame, and I feel for his parents and loved ones.

I'm sure it's a lot hotter than that in some of the shitholes he would have been expected to go though.

RIP lad.

+ 2 was hitting 90s that day, i reckon if there going to these things, they should have doctor ready/ equipment there on these (very hot ) days, thats 4 young men who died as yet, what they want 4-6 more to follow bloody them .

He had just finished one of the army's basic fitness tests which is 8 miles carrying kit weapon and helmet done over a standard time of 1hr 50 mins which is piss easy ... The poor lad must have an underlying

Robles he didn't know about .......
