Hi all just bought a smk synsg for some ratting and possible rabbits. I've always had tx200s and bsa lightnings so some good quality rifles. I was offered this dirt cheap with scope and bag so decided I'd have it. Will it be good enough for ratting and occasionally rabbiting. It's currently got a bushnell scope on top but planning on putting a photon xt on top.

Kind regards

Dan

It has turned to be a good little air rifle. Just got a stoeger x20s aswel in .177 and love it lol.

I've got the X20S in .22 - others have come and gone, but I can't bring myself to part with it, even though the springs broken - gonna have to resurrect it ! A mate gave it a nice camo respray a few months ago and it looks the bizz !!

Fair play mate. Me and a mate both had the .22 versions years ago and his spring snapped. I've put a titan xs spring on mine and polished all the internals. 1st .177 I've had and it's awesome lol.

I'm glad you bought this up, mate !

My mainspring snapped and my mate said he'd put a new one in. He put a Titan in and now it makes the most horrific noise....the recoil is so violent that I've stopped using it, for fear of damaging the scope !

Did you shorten the spring or use it as it was ?

I used it as it was mate. I used a no. 11 and made sure it was well lubed using Bisley gun grease. The no. 11 spring is for most smk models and stoeger rifles. I used to cut them down but don't bother anymore as I found the no.11 suits the rifle perfect with a good greasing and polishing the piston etc. Mine gives a constant 11.3 ftlb using crossman premier pellets think their 11.7 g
