Chuckster 0 Posted July 17, 2016 Report Share Posted July 17, 2016 Hi new on here just need some help ,ferret and kits ,just gone to check on her and she's laid out can't move sort of heavy breathing and fitting kits are only 3 weeks old don't think they will survive without her she was fine this morning gave her some steak she ate it took rest inside had ferrets all my life but never seen this any advice would be great Quote Link to post

As already said probably the heat, get yourself a spray bottle and try cool her down a bit but don't do it to quick. Slowly slowly and she should be fine. Good luck with her Atb Bb Quote Link to post

Guest vin Posted July 17, 2016 Report Share Posted July 17, 2016 big plastic pop bottles full up and froze overnight...drop them in hutch in shaded areas and they love to lay down next to them to cool off...or when the missis is out i use the washing up bowl with some cool water and a brick inside to weigh it down.. they love a paddle in this weather... got to keep em cool. also an oscillating fan when its really hot. watch the kits are not suffocating in a red hot nest box also. Chuckster 0 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 Thanks for your help she and kits doing fine now proper thort I'd lost her her front legs had totally gone limp she was breathing heavy biting anything she was near hutch was in shade but olé ft cage door open for a while also rubbed some honey on her gums as I looked up insulinoma exact same symptoms so maybe that helped but anyhow fingers crossed at min cheers chuckster Quote Link to post
