It has seemed to have ruffled a few feathers... and the fellas comment above about wannabe pest controllers. Fair dinkum mate so what if people want to give it a go. Who are you to say otherwise, Seems there are a select few on this forum who seem to spend too much time on here putting people down . Because "thats not what i would do" you old fellas really need to get over yourselves and get rid of this whole anti attitude with your authoritarian bullshit.

IF you don't like traps, then it seems to me that you are looking in the wrong forum, some of us make our living using them and we put up with enough shit and jump through enough hoops without having

Well i guess you could say there is no big deal in seeing any animal "dead" whether it be shot or trapped. Hell why would you even look at a picture of fish caught if you have been there done that? We

If we can't put up pictures of legal trapping, shooting, dog work etc then what is the point of the site ???.......

I suppose I had better clarify. Gratuitous photos of dead animals in my opinion do nothing bar massage the ego of the author. That said, given the right context they can be an integral part of a story. Sort of from finding the tracks, placing the trap through to the coup de grace type of story.

In context most pictures are acceptable it's is when they are gratuitous that most find them unacceptable.

Yes, it'd be cool to see. Personally I think by adding plenty of pics of the set and stuff it makes the result pic less offensive to those that would feel that way. Makes it appear less of a glorification and more of a story/education.

There's no shortage of these pictures and videos all over the net. Adding more in a carefully considered way ain't gonna do any harm.

Personally I find any kind of trap totally inhumane, apart from cage traps, and those are only OK if if they are checked very regularly. I have found dead foxes in cage traps set on farm land on rough shoots that have obviously died of dehydration and starvation, showing that whoever set the trap couldn't be bothered to check it.

The amount of stress and pain, even in one of those so-called cushioned traps, is not acceptable to anyone with half an ounce of humanity. If that makes me sound like an anti, then tough. I appreciate that in a country where there is a feral dog problem then these traps may just be preferable to poisoned bait, and a damn sight cheaper than marksmen in choppers. But, to be honest, it is humans who are the scourge of the planet, not the animals. But, you'd think by now, with so many chemicals on the market, they'd have found a way to safely euthanase feral dogs without causing stress and pain.

Stick the pics up mate, always good to see how its done elsewhere,i can stick TV on and watch a wolverine or lynx bouncing around in a leghold on life below zero or yukon men, some decent pics of a fox in a trap built for purpose on a hunting forum in the trapping section isn't going to shock or make me lose sleep,be lucky.

You can class yourself in the scourge of the planet, but i certainly don't think i am.

Question the proficiency of a trapper who takes photos before dispatch, don't go on Australian or American forums you knob, for that matter don't watch American hunting shows. Takes 2 seconds to get a photo. Also the other knob who said traps are inhumane, tell me have you seen a fox die from a bait? Baits are also indiscriminate whatever picks it up dies and its not quickly or humanely, Don't try and tar trappers with the same brush shag everything i do is legal i check my traps everyday so don't write your rubbish on here because clearly you are uneducated on the subject.

will post the pictures later when i knock of work, my ego is in need of a massage.

If you are just sticking them up to get a reaction, then all it is doing is massaging your frail ego, because it sure as hell is not going to make anyone any the wiser. If you post them in the context of a tutorial on how you trap foxes and wild dogs then I do not see a problem with them.

It really sounds to me as if you are good at your job, but for some reason you need the world to know?

To the ones that say stick them up, what are you going to learn from looking at photos of dead animals? Please tell me as I must have been missing something these last 50 odd years.
