It will all depend on what colour and Finnish you want to achieve on the metalwork as to what you use to rub it down with.

As moxy has say,d but i used tin foil at first then moved onto the wire wool

it all depends how bad the pitting is and how deep it is

you can get a box of wire wool and its got different grains in it but all ways Finnish with the 0000 wire wool to smooth it out

if you use the wet and dry use it dry as if you use it wet the rust will set in when dry unless you have a hot blower to dry it (your lasses hair dryer will do lol) but be ready to blue it strait away to prevent rust

if you get a blueing kit it comes with a de,greasing agent and a rust prevent-er

all you do is when your finished getting all the old blueing off you rub the de,greaser all over the action and i mean all over .

then rub the rust prevent-er all over to once this is done the blueing starts

put it onto the 0000 wire wool and lightly rub it all over the action

YOU WILL SEE THE BLUEING TAKE AFFECT INSTANTLY

LET DRY FOR A GOOD FEW OURS AND REPEAT THE BLUEING IF ANOTHER COAT IS NEEDED
