New Member With Interest In Lurchers Looking For Advice On Crosses. Any Really Good Bitch Pups Coming Available?

Hi folks. I have just joined Hunting Life. I am in the process of looking for a lurcher bitch pup. My first lurcher bitch was called Sulya and was the lion of my heart. She was whippet/greyhoud x Deerhound (at least thats what I was told but I only saw the mother! wanna do it differently this time)) has just died. I didn't work her and I regretted it when she was older as she was a great dog and I used to get offers on the street to buy her from people who worked lurchers when she was young and I was living in Ireland. I would like to work my next lurcher.

 

At the moment I am researching breeders and crosses as I want to make sure my next bitch is at least as fabulous as her predecessor and likely to be worth breeding from. The crosses I'm interested are greyhound or perhaps whippet with collie, saluki, or deerhound. If anyone has any advice, or even a REALLY good bitch puppy for sale, ready anytime from two weeks from now, I'd love to hear from you! I am prepared to wait for the right dog and I want to do my research before I get one.

Will be a good few years, plenty of time and effort with some luck before you will know if your choice is worth breeding from (as a working dog).

PMd ya mate. He's bonny. Fired up the camper and took off for the last few weeks; he's been bunny bashing the Suffolk and Norfolk coast line. ATB.
