Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Does anyone know where I can get a good terrier size harness? I've a dog here and, in the winter it's no problem but, during the warmer months he's pulling on the lead that much he's almost choking himself out. I was hoping to get one from Strongstuff but he doesn't do them so any help on alternative options would be appreciated. Cheers.
jiggy 3,209
If the dog is trained to walk on a lead properly you wont need a harness its only taking short cuts he will still drag you around the place which doesnt make an enjoyable walk put some discipline in him a lead should only be an extension of your arm the dog can sense when your not in control. When it falls in to place your walk will be better for you and him.
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
The dog isn't pulling overly hard it's the fact the collar is choking him mixed with the warm weather. I've had a terrier with the same problem before and a harness solved the problem. But all the others in between and the others I have now are fine. Thanks for the input but it's not needed. Back to the original question, does anyone know where I can get a decent harness?
jiggy 3,209
Try the equestrian shops or saddlerys they usually have top quality dog leads, collars and harnesses but they charge top dollars

Mister Gain 1,764
If you don't mind paying a few bob for a 'quality' harness, have a look at https://www.aecollars.co.uk/ they are aimed at staffies but you can get them plain (no studs), They are made to order, I got a harness, collar and lead in plain black. Made with 3.5mm - 4mm English bridle leather with heavy guage buckles and rings.

simononeill93 69
There is a new harness on YouTube, from a guy in USA. It fits round the shoulder and chest, not the neck, and the lead clips at front of chest, to stop dogs pulling.worth a look.simon
planete 120
Link the harness and the collar with some kind of strap. Dogs can back out of most harnesses apart from the ones with a second strap behind the ribcage.
