Guest vin
Doubt it, seeing as he started this thread! I take it back That's real bad news for your mate, vin - can't imagine what it must be like to lose an entire line in one go like that. He made a fatal mistake of selling some used land rover parts and invited strangers onto his property.. a fella tried to buy a couple off him and he refused him...few days later he lost the lot. no one local did it that for certain,. poor lad was distraught. . . I got him a couple of tidy little kits from same place I got mine and he's slightly optimistic for the coming season,. time will tell. Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,738
Feel for the guy,...it's no joke walking down the garden and seeing that your ferret hutches have been raped,... Everyone is different, I know that, but personally, it finished me .... As for ratting ferrets,...Rats, (if given the opportunity),.will usually elect to flee,..no wild creature goes looking for a fight,...so, they will bolt,.. if they can,..but if forced to stay put,..they will sell their lives dearly and in a tight tube, they will inflict terrible injuries, before they succumb to a keen ferret's bite... I've seen plenty of ferrets lose eyes and get their noses unhinged,..and the bites they suffer, need a decent cleaning to prevent infection....All in all,..it is an exciting game,.and I've done lots of it,.however,..it is a sport that is frequently short lived, cos sooner or later, no matter how keen a ferret it,..it will eventually call it a day,.. As hunters we need to remember,."Everything and anyone can be broken",.be it a man,..a dog,.or a ferret... . Edited July 14, 2016 by Phil Lloyd 3 Quote Link to post
Chicken_man 1,651
Shame for the fella Vin. Phil, Is that a rat stop / long net? Great pic also. Atb Quote Link to post
Guest vin
love that pic Phil.. Your spot on there with the ratting game. I could do with a quick set rat long net for putting around garden sheds etc etc.. That would come in handy. .. . lots of bag in it and plenty of poles for getting around obstacles etc. Quote Link to post

If the latter, a length of small guage chicken wire will do the job. Doesn't need to be very high and just cut to whatever length you need. Quote Link to post
