Kay 3,709
I also think that as we age we do less, I cant do half the stuff I did 10 years ago it kills me, at one time I would have had the living room walls stripped & re papered in a couple of days It takes me longer to do jobs round the house now , I joined a gym a few yrs ago... what a miserable experience... lots of miserable folk all doing the same as me & probably wishing they where elsewhere ... If your wanting to maintain a fairly healthy weight, just do things in moderation & be as active as your health & body will allow ... people shouldn't be shamed for being heavier or lighter than the '' ideal'' where spoon fed by the media
stealthy1 3,964
I like to keep myself fit, I walk a lot and work out a bit, not quite got a 6 pack, but could have it if I wanted. Is it fair on fit people that things like shop dummies and fashion models and other forms of advertising, should have to become fat just to appease the obese, and do we all have to become fat just to make fat people feel happy about themselves? Or should they be forced to lose weight? Im a big fat c**t,but at least I dont spend my time shopping with the ladies and looking at dummies in shop windows....man up for christs sake... It upsets you that your fat, doesn't it. I find pointing a finger at others might make me feel better or convince myself Im a wolf and not a sheep..sound familiar? Your to fat to be a wolf. Francie 6,368
Imo its ok to have a bit of meat on, but when health related issues arise from being over weight, it needs to be adressed.
jiggy 3,209
Bit disconcerting to discover that I could meet someone for drink and they decide I'm a lazy ,untrustworthy feker with no standards before I have even sat down . Your over 60 you can get away with it apparently......if your obese Stan then put the cakes down and liven yourself up.......sorry and all that but what sort of pal would let his mate become a disgusting mess !.... if a mate of mine allowed me to get in such a state and didnt pull me up then he aint a real mate as far as im concerned.whats the catch weight shallow hal what if people that actually achieved something in life like tyson furey, ronaldo, roy keane or conor mcgregor look down and said gnasher your a lazy person you didnt try hard enough.By the way im not fat but i dont judge people because of it many fat people acheived far more than you or i did.

smithie 2,443
I know an old boy that used to jog 12 mile out and obviously same àgain back 3 nights a week after work. He wanted to be fit and also enjoyed the jog. Problem is about 10 year ago he had to retire early as he had done his hips and knees with all the pounding. Just as some do too little some do too much. It wouldnt bother me in the slightest simply because i can look myself in the mirror and know i tried my hardest to be the best i could be....i dont think many obese people can do that.fighters/sportsmen what you describe will very rarely go onto a life of obesity as they have lived a disciplined life take a fighter like Naseem who is constantly ridiculed about his weight yet he is nowhere near obese....overweight yes but again people who have experienced the necessary discipline to compete i dont think often lose that discipline. Have a look on the Neapolitan Mastiff topic on here or the state of the British Bulldog breed folk talk about how disgraceful these breeds have become yet excuse the same within the human race its bizarre to me but i certainly wouldnt be directly rude to anyone i just presumed that here on a forum for active dogs/people most members would be of the same mindset as they ask of their dogs but my apologies if ive offended anyone. An old man running almost an entire marathon 3 times a week is a bit extreme isn't it? It's not like it's just on the border of doing too much, you won't accidentally overdo it by that degree. It's a bit of a silly argument tbh, like saying obesity's bad but so's anorexia.
