Guest pip
I don t think anyones saying that only ugly dogs work or that working terrier men only like or use ugly dogs, everyone likes a nice terrier but work must come first. If you had a show stopping terrier cleaning up at all the shows and he failed to meet the grade in the field would you be as hard on him than you would with his ugly kennel mate??Thats the point the grade for acceptance in terriermens kennels must be working ability. When Gary Middleton said his dogs where only show stuff, where did he show them?Surely not at a "WORKING TERRIER SHOW".Thats the problem with the shows people have left out the working criteria hence alienating working terrier men.I know a lad who was asked to judge a show near me and he only chose dogs that worked while leaving some excellant "looking" specimens which he knew didn t on the sideline.Needless to say it didn t go down too well with the non working keepers and he was never asked to judge again. With regards to the," would i sell a dog for 1000pound NO".If a dog i have works i will keep it, if it doesn t suit me i fail to see how it will suit anyone else. When you start to equate dogs with££££££then your on the wrong road.If you want to show non workers then join the Kennel Club. Quote Link to post
