mantha 2
yes my dogs do work and work well i may add.sorry to upset some of you but what is wrong with having a good looking dog that works i.I agree with what you are saying and work ability is the most inportant thing. All i can say is if shows are not inportant why do so many people attend, are you saying that evryone that attends shows are not terrier men and their dogs are not working dogs and also i think that shows are very inportant because it shows the antis that we are still in force and we will not give up the fight. moss 70
alot of people attend the shows as you say for the crack and a laugh during the summer and to enter the dogs for a bit of fun if you win thats a bonus but no way would you catch me breeding to win at summer shows. Guest cristoforo
Whats wrong with having a good looking dog? you wouldnt have a ugly wife just because she was a good cook, surley you want a bit of both, looks and working ability (Now watch the abuse im gonna get ) Quote Link to post
Guest pip
Surprising how beautiful an ugly dog becomes when he works well. Why do you need the opinion of someone else, you can buy red rossettes down the street, you can t buy working terriers just as easy as the good ones aren t for sale. If i was in your frame of mind i d get rid of your working lines and just go straight to the "big"names, who haven t dug in years and keep lovely little tykes who wouldn t kill a mouse OR go for KC stuff. Oh and nothing wrong with having a goodlooking working terrier but the show bug is a disease and has and does and will ruin the working terrier. You read the book, have you dug or seen dug the dogs mentioned???I know some who have or tried to and i wouldn t be looking that direction.OMHO Quote Link to post

mantha 2
i olny have a dog and bitch terriers so if i breed them two together and keep best pup then id have to put it back with mother or father, wont this be breeding to close. Quote Link to post
kris 0
Just because it looks good dont mean it doesnt work hard. I like to see a good looking terrier in my kennel whats the point of owning something that does the job but looks sh*t. when at the same time you can have one that looks good aswell as work. Get a pup from someone who works the mother and father and if they look good then you have had a touch. This is my bitch half middleton bred both the mother and father work really well pictured at 7 months she has just eaten a jam sandwich. She is now 10 months old and shows no reverse gear.
