Do I Really Need Another ?

Recommended Posts

As some of you may know i am thinking about buying a .20 ,but after a very good weekend last week with HW100k .177 and a good evening today with my HW100KT .22 , the question is do I really need a different cal ?. I know this is probably going to open a can of worms but I have always said ,If you now your setup IE gun , scope , pellet and what yourself is capable of , any of the four cals will do the job . I know some of you will say , you can rule out .25 in sub 12 ft/lb and .22 is Ok up to 40 yards but once again no your set up and you can use both of these cals out to 55 -60 yards ....

Well this is what my .22 can do , ranges from 35 yard out to 58 yard and the pigeon was taken at 50 yard with a head shot of the knee . This is my favorite hunting position unless there is a gate or fence post to learn on or lean against

Excellent work of shooting VM . As to the .20, if you want and have extra pennies in pocket, feel it will give you added pleasure hunting, then why not? Only you know the answer to your own question. Good luck, and once more mate that was some good days hunting.

All the best

Short answer is no.

But, a 25 in fac will shoot like you sub 22 or better, trajectory wise but be very decisive tother end !!

Even under 12 a 25 is interesting over 30 yards.

If you`ve been a good lad Mitch FAC wont be a problem as long as your permission(s) are deemed acceptable.

Sub 12ft/lbs does me fine.

Same Mark and that is why i haven't gone down FAC route

Amazing results. Ever thaught about trying fac air in .22 instead?

Yes I have thought about it but isn't it a lot of trouble getting FAC or is it different for FAC Air ?

I've been thinking about this for a while vm!

from what i can gather from asking about as long as you don't hold back on your application and put down EVERYTHING and haven't been psyco the chances are pretty good you'll be granted! and it only costs £70 to apply :thumbs:

give it a go and good luck

Same as powder burners but its not too much hassle. Bolt a safe to the wall, get a permission letter from your farmer and post the form off and he will come see you and check your safe is securely fixed. Possibly a land check if its not already cleared but thats no bother to you as they go and have a look without you.

Think long term if England goes the same as Scotland with the air gun licence its going to be easier to get one now than when you require a licence and have to explain every thing
