Jonjon79 13,358
I finally managed to get out again last night - because of work and shite weather, I hadn't been to the rugby club for nearly 3 weeks. I intended to have a good look round to see what was new in preparation for a good night later this week. I tracked a juvenile that was just ambling through the trees. He eventually stopped to eat, up a bank but, he had his back to me. I was no more than 20yrds away. He was nice and relaxed and, he kept his head down eating. I watched him for a couple of minutes, he just stayed right where he was and, flat out refused to present a shot. I squeaked him once and he lifted his head but didn't look round. I squeaked him again with exactly the same result. Then, I thought I'll try something different - the idea nearly made me laugh. I said out loud 'Stand up you f****r', and that's exactly what it did, bolt upright, but it still refused to look round so, I lowered the aim slightly and gave him a JSB Heavy in the base of the skull from behind. He fell forward straight on his front without a twitch. .... Just the 1 from a short trip out but, I'd call that a success. 6 Quote Link to post

random 659
You say not a shot you would choose but the back of the head is ideal,as you found out,the method of getting him to present a shot however Quote Link to post

There's certainly a lot to learn. I guess the technique was a bit unorthodox but, I did start to wonder if it was ever going to present a shot I usually try to position myself for the classic side on shot or, wait until it turns for me. .... Yes mate - That's Lilly, our 2yr old Chihuahua. She's actually really well behaved - she just pulls that face if I hold her front paws - no noise or biting, just the face Quote Link to post
