BGD 6,436 Posted July 8, 2016 Report Share Posted July 8, 2016 im not getting up in arms just pointing out the fact that many media outlets made no mention of it.....After all it is the biggest loss of British lives by terrorism in the UK and only 11 years I dont know if Omagh or Lockerbie got a mention in the press 11 years after those events Honestly I did think it was a bit strange it wasn't on any frontpages etc too but I didn't see it as some conspiracy to hush up the events of 7/7, just that the public are very shallow and have already lost interest in it. Bombs planted by scum in a major city is a terrorist attack. What else would you expect from a terrorist sympathiser? He called them "coordinated suicide bomb attacks" what's the difference between that and "terrorist attack"? Is "terrorist attack carried out by Muslim extremists" the only way we're allowed to refer to the 7/7 bombings whenever they're mentioned? It's a bit of a mouthful and doesn't scan too well for speeches but if the words offend your poor sensitve souls I guess we'll just have to get used to it And I thought folk on here hated the PC brigade policing what folk can say incase it offends someone, turns out you're just the same as them let me ask you this bgd....if your family...mum, dad, brothers, sisters, kids......where on a bus, and a terrorist detonated a bomb on it, and it killed all of your family members, would you explain it to your friends as a tragedy.....or....it was a terrorist attack that killed them? also....what would the headlines be on the news for it.....would the headlines be.....a terrorist bomb attack on a bus kills all passengers? or, a bomb blew a bus up today killing all the passengers, it's a tragedy? it would be a tragedy if the bus driver had a heart attack and crashed the bus, killing everyone on board.....but i don't think you can call an organised bombing to purposely kill a load of people a tragedy? The word tragedy doesn't imply accident. You're correct. Well done for speaking the same language as me. It doesn't imply terrorist attack either. And that's exactly why the sneaky b*****d used the word. Eleven years ago our city came under attack, killing 52 people and injuring over 700 in four coordinated suicide bomb attacks across our transport network. Today, we remember those we lost and the heroic efforts of our emergency services and transport colleagues on that darkest of days. As Mayor, my first priority is to do everything possible to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again. Where is he trying to cover up the fact it was a terrorist attack? What's ambiguous about "coordinated suicide bomb attacks"? I suppose he better run all future speeches past the THL committee to make sure his choice of wording doesn't offend anyone. It's PC gone mad Seeing as you've popped back in here could you answer this? I remember it like yesterday my daughter had started her first week of work and id dropped her off at the station she was so excited about her new job yet within a few days she was scared shitless and i spent the next month having to drive her door to door.......on the day in question she had come out of Euston Station and was literally 3 minutes away at the time the bus went up in Tavistock Square.
