Springer Rifles ...full Length V's Carbine

Recommended Posts

barrels cant just be cuit to any old desired length, theres 'ideals' for the power going through it, also they need to be crowned right too...i.e. a nelly rounding looks good but performs shite lol.

longer a barrel is the longer the exit time (how long it takes the pellet to get out of the barrel), erghh theres loads that will argue 'therefore the shorter the better' but thats bollox, you'll never amount to much snap shooting a spting without the follow through...besides, we're talking in thousands of a millisecond or some such time diference.

in pcp's you can turn the regs down a bit more (more shots per fil) with a longer barrel. (it may only be fractional, but in a springer that means a bit less kick when the springs sized right..another little bit towards getting a better performance)

and finaly, although barrels are a f*ck load better these days, for the thirty to forty yard stuff a carbines fine,(better for out the car window etc) but for the full wack you'll want the full barrels all the way, to point of maybe buying something like a sports/match barrel...

in short it depends what you want from the gun...a quick knock about or going fu gold.

(all said and done, a newbie probly wont be able to tell the diference, e.g. scoping up with a two inch group prone at 30meters...you'll never know the diference, scoping up standing getting one hole groups you'll bin the carbine lol)
