gelert 1
As above, I have a mate who reloads so just want to know what works well as a starting point. what works in a steyr mannlicher .243, for foxes, no kick wanted, and flat trajectory shooting in awkward places and the gun can't always be hard into my shoulder and i shoot quite a few foxes on the trot. And what doubles up well for roe and foxes don't mind a bit more kick cos its all high seat stuff? Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
try 58 grain v-max for foxes, with 42.9 grains of varget, win cases fed 210 primers used. 1/2 groups all day with this load in tikka but start at 41 and try up to (44 grains)caution no more max load.... if no joy but you should have no problem with 42.9 as everybody who tried this is gettin at least 3/4 inch groups or better. COL 2.600 INCHES...... this little pill is leaving the tikka at 3722 fps............. try it and let me know how it goes for ye . as for deer i use 95 grain so dont use it for dual purpose....
