Deker 3,478
What's wrong with poisons? Or just site a LOT more traps, they are apparently working, you say yourself Got a lot of rats in our roof space in work so have a few traps up there! They are no doubt coming from outside and potentially in cavity etc, so site traps all round the works or at least in known routes, find the source. You often need a combined approach. Or get a professional! Edited July 5, 2016 by Deker Quote Link to post
terryd 8,590
yes didn't want posion and end up with dead rats laying in roof stinking the place out. I don't mind tinkering about catching a few breaks my day up lol. The boss did get a quote off a pro and said crack on and never saw him again Big building too over 200 feet long Edited July 5, 2016 by terryd Quote Link to post

Yes it happens, but I have dealt with thousands of rats over the years and only ever had a handful cause odour issues. VERY EFFECTIVE deodorising gels etc are available to mask the smell should it happen. If you tinker about you will never solve the problem, you need to hit them hard and fast! Quote Link to post

I agree, hit them hard now, if you do not want the poison route, then get the boss to buy 20 more traps, so more of the vast roof area is covered. Adult rats are canny, they have learned how to survive better than young ones, trap placement is key Need to try and find their routes in/out and seal - if you stop them getting in, then will not need the traps. A wildlife camera placed in loft would help to record numbers and possible ingress. Aldi were selling them for about £70 recently. Camera + traps still cheaper than the electricans charge when cabling gnawed. Could place little piles of flour at places you think they are getting - the flour will help confirm their movements, will be disturbed/see footprints Good Luck 1 Quote Link to post

bendrover 556
Go online . Purchase tracking dust and a u v torch . You will soon find the ingress points . Quote Link to post
