pianoman 3,587
Cheers Mitch. I can't wait to see how Carl's work will tranform this Regal of mine. I just want a precision accurate, hard hitting, penetrating shot with some guts behind it. Not bashing the poor animal's head in with a weakly underpowered thump at 35 yards. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Cheers Gentlemen. Sorted out for Tuesday afternoon visit with the man. Well your Day will not be in a state after a visit to him!! 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
It is in a way Mike. Just come home now after leaving the Regal with him to start work on. I'm bloody furious with what we found out. Inconsistent pressures in the cylinder, FPE all over the place, Pellets found to be clipping the silencer so, the barrel shroud needs shortening, possibly the barrel as well, which is what I wouldn't want if everything was alright with that. So that's a new thread to added... Apart from the new regulator, it's basically going to cost double the money quoted to bring it up to standards that should be in place already for a rifle at this price-point. Carl assured me the rifle will be astounding as never before when he's finished with it. And because a three-hour drive there and another three back is not to be sniffed at lightly, I'm going ahead and having the rifle done. He has Carte Blanch to do whatever this REGAL needs. I was going to buy a .22 version expressly for him to make a regulator and custom tune it..... . I will never spend my money with DAYWASTE EVER AGAIN! When this Regal is finished I'll write a full review of what has been done and an honest appraisal of how it performs. What really has me so angry is, the Daystate HUNTSMAN CLASSIC I bought for Helen is really lovely. Not a thing wrong with it. This Regal is supposed to be the improved version of that fine gun. It's no-where bloody near it! I need a beer and a calm-down hour. f**k PCPs load of wank! 5 Quote Link to post
davedavedave 69
Carl is a top bloke and did a great job putting a regulator into my AA S510. I am very lucky he lives only 4 miles from where I work atb, Dave 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Thanks lads, I'm a lot better minded this morning. Weather looks good so, I'm planning a rabbit perm day with one of my Weihrauch spring rifles (#riflesthatwork.com) so, it'll be a nice day in the garden warming everything up and a trip out later. Can't argue with you about the HW97K Jimmy, the one I have is a beauty. Well, it's a poor cloud that has no silver lining and I'll get a superbly re-engineered custom-tuned multishot rifle at the end of it. And I can fit my chunky big A&M Marksman silencer without making the rifle forward heavy or over-long. It'll no longer be a Daystate/Harper valve mickey mouse thing but an amazing custom job. I was more than impressed with how this lad Carl works. He builds some bloody serious looking rifles of his own designs, with some proper punch behind them. Custom Stock make his stocks and you get a a hell of a rifle built exactly to your requirements. Definitely one for me on my FAC at some later date. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,003
Yet another load of crap from Dayslap. You really have to wonder what is the percentage of decent rifles Vs useless crap. They should be taken to court for their attitude when they supply product not fit for purpose and at crazy prices offering NO customer support. It would not be tooooo bad if the guns were cheap stuff but when they charge top dollar, it's a joke. I'm glad you have a plan in place Simon with the right bloke. Phil 2 Quote Link to post
