Some cracking books there, three in particular are excellent and can be re-read time and again with keenness, Turners "Memoirs of a Gamekeeper", Marchingtions "Pugs and Drumners" and Harcombes "World of the working Terrier". I have the Barkley book "Studies in the art of Ratcatching" but mine is the popular edition, dated 1896. This is almost a complete library of fieldsports books. ?

Turners Book is fantastic Cragman - I bought it by mistake because I thought it said £4.50!! I took it up to pay and the man said £45, I dont know why I paid and it sat on the shelf nearly a year before I read it, but it was one the best books I have ever read.

 

Then I found the map in the back at the end, brilliant.

A look into bygone keepering days. The pages on catching the poachers is great reading ?

Pugs and Drummers is very well researched and includes a bibliography to die for. Harcombes? Well, nothing to add really
