krawnden 1,036
For me this cross has 2 faults , prone to being deaf and lack stamina for covering big open marsh land and denses woods , how do ur whiriers do for stamina? Mine's not lacking in stamina - she'll go all day if given the chance. Quote Link to post

Busher100 739
I would think if u pick a big dog pup from a litter from a good whippet bitch and hard terrier dog u could end up with a small alrounder maybe 21tts and 35 pound it should be able to track shot roe retrieve odd fox n hare and be consistant on rabbits what do u lads think? Busher100 739
Yes as sometimes this can only be a bad thing with a fox heading for a busy road. Quote Link to post
samurai 178
Yes as sometimes this can only be a bad thing with a fox heading for a busy road. This is a problem with most running dogs or dogs with high prey drive not just whirriers we all know the chances we take with these dogs 1 Quote Link to post

samurai 178
I can call them off a hot scent but as said once sighted they only have tunnel vision to catch Quote Link to post

samurai 178
Ostly just a pure whippet father to the whirrier but my daughter also has the brother to the whippet and the brother to the whirrier but that one is a different kettle of fish, good length on him and a bit quicker than mine also a saluki lurcher plus I might aswell say before I get pulled up again about it an Italian greyhound that thinks it's a full size greyhound 1 Quote Link to post
