Tyla 3,179
I have a whippet Russell first x who is capable of all of the above. I can't do pics on my phone but there are lots in my old posts. He's getting on now and lost a bit of speed but none of his drive. If I could clone him I would! 1 Quote Link to post
Busher100 747
Would he find his own quarry in open marsh? 1 Quote Link to post

Moorside 642
At the end of the day, if brought on right any half decent type will do a job for you. You can come up with every scenario you like some will make the grade some wont......you pay youre money and make youre choice 3 Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
In all honesty he's never hunted on marshland so I couldn't say but he hunts in woods and farm land well enough for me Quote Link to post
Busher100 747
What was he like retrieving bigger stuff? Quote Link to post
Wales1234 5,542
This a route il be down when I'm older at the moment all my dogs are between 24-27 but when ahes hits me two Russell or beddy whippets will do me fine Quote Link to post
Busher100 747
If all goes well im gonna keep 2 bitches from the litter will keep the racier types should be handy for mooching round with the shotgun Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
This is definitely a route I can see myself going down in the future. A couple of these small lurchers and a busher would do me just fine I reckon. I'm not ready to give up the bigger lurcher just yet though, think I will keep at least one 25-27" dog for the forseesble. Quote Link to post
Busher100 747
Why gaz unless u r tracking shot deer i dont see what big 25tts plus lurchers can do better thank a little 19 tts whirrier for mooching rat rabbit retrieving odd fox i think these are the way to go also much less likely to get pulled with 2 little whippety mongerels than a big ole lurcher Quote Link to post
