Gaz_1989 9,539
Not sure I could sit and watch a bull in a ring being stabbed to death . Animal cruelty at its best..Worse than a ferret getting a rabbit up a stop end by its eye and keeping it there for half an hour while you dig down and then break its neck? Come on fella. Not one of us on here can condemn another man for animal cruelty. People in glass houses and all that. That has nothing to do with a bull being stabbed to death for entertment. The act isn't important though, you're accusing a man of animal cruelty when thousands of people think what you do on a daily basis is cruel. Again it doesn't matter what the act is, mooching, lamping, ferreting, shooting, fishing. How can someone who does all that tell another man he's guilty of animal cruelty? It's not like you hunt for food, you do what you do for fun, same as I do. I can't get my head around it fella.

Bryan 1,362
The worst of the bull strains is the famous Miura, they're the bull depicted on Lamborghinis. They've killed and gored more matadors than any other line and lots of matadors won't face them. They're big and tall with wide horns and almost impossible for a shorter guy to get in over the horns to kill. They're also a bit "lacklustre or focused" and learn fast. With the lack of focus they're not always totally distracted by the cape and some of them quickly make out that the man and cape are separate and they're getting no joy from the cape. From the bull entering the ring it all lasts 12 minutes. The bull has never met a man on his feet before, it has 12 minutes to figure it all out, the man has 12 minutes to show the best of himself and the bull before it figures it all out. Here is Padilla meeting a Miura. One Miura has cut his throat, another took his eye, more have gored him and lots have rolled and thrown him. On the knees further out into the ring there's time to size up the bull, see if it's focused, which side it'll take and gives it time to get up to a gallop so it's well past before it turns. The closer to the edge the less chance of all that and the more chance of contact. Padilla has not artistry, but he's got balls os steel.

Gaz_1989 9,539
The two things just arnt the same to me..that's all.. They're exactly the same to me. 2 men doing something that other people disagree with and consider cruel. One is in Spain fighting a bull and one is in England hunting with dogs.

So you happened to have a working type dog before you were into hunting? And woke up one day and thought "I'm gonna let this dog hunt because it's what he wants to do". Lol pull the other one mate.

I 100% see what you are saying mate and of course I can see the differences, but the outsiders won't. The antis won't. It's all under one banner - animal cruelty. And that's why I don't think anyone who takes part in any countrysports should ever condemn another man for anything like this.
