smithie 2,444
I use both. Measure 1 side of a job in mm and the other in inch Don't know why I have to make things hard but I do.

Tiercel 6,986
I think I aught to make up a petition calling for the reinstatement of all imperial measurements. I still have to convert to feet and inches to think what size something is. Some are easy to remember like 400mm or 40cm or 4 dm is 10 times the size of my dick, that is easy to remember, after that it gets confusing. DIDO.1 22,852
....it means they will stop prosecuting shop keepers for selling in imperial.....I hope to see butchers and grocers using old weights

For one thing petrol is a lot cheaper in litres than in gallons but a 2lb roach sounds bigger than a one kilo one even though it isn't.
tillylamp 1,853
i've always used both, being in the building game and carpentry....when measuring a piece of wood i use what ever has been the easiest to mark, but doing footings, cavity walls....i'm in mm way more than inches....kilos have always been a pain in the arse tho... my wifes never gone over to metric, when something being explained in metric.....she says to me....."what's that in English"........

I said ages ago its a joke how some things are imperial and some are metric. I'm just off to the pub to have a 568ml glass of beer. It's about 1.6km from here.
devon flighter 421
worked in feeters for years me
Blackbriar 8,569
I never use metric, but even though I'm in my 50s, I don't understand the old money. We lived in Australia when I was a boy, and there money was "metric" when we went there.
Born Hunter 17,841
Use a mix of imperial and metric at work. God bless the Yanks! LOL. This is even more backward, we don't measure the velocity of sound, we measure the slowness! Awkward fuckers!
desertbred 5,490
f**k it thats near enough ! is the only weights and measures you need. whether imperial or metric a 200 yard or 200 metre slip is really about 50 foot
