shepp 2,285
Genuine question........could this actually increase immigration from outside the EU in the future? It will be the governments decision, but at least they will be absolutely accountable now and not be able to hide behind any excuses of free movement rules.
BGD 6,436
Don't forget with Boris as PM we may well see amnesty for illegals that have been in the country a certain number of years.

walshie 2,804
Obviously not as we're going to have an unelected PM very shortly. Why won't Cameron just fall on his sword and piss off now? Waiting 3 months before we even start our exit seems pointless.

We don't vote for the PM in this country, it's just the leader of the majority party.
Greyman 28,250
What ever happens in the coming weeks days and months, falls into insignificance against the fact we have just saved ourself,s from a dictatorship superstate, and returned to a small democracy, there are sixteen million losers in this fight so there is bound to be an ocean of tears, but hey democracy has one the day so get over it,
Tiercel 6,986
I voted out not for the immigration but because I wanted OUR country back. I heard on the news this morning some expats moaning that they cannot now have their cake and eat it. They are moaning that they will have to pay medical insurance, as the free health care will stop, the cost of sending their kids to university is going to cost them more. Fecking tough I say, you chose to live abroad now live with the decision. The people of this country have spoken and will be more vocal in the future. Lets hope the political parties take note as we are fed up of being dictated too by people who feel they do not have any accountability. TC

TC I disagree, the working immigrants in the UK are contributing to our nation. Why the fcuk should they be punished?? Obviously our own people should be given first dibs on jobs but we all know how lazy a lot of Brits are when it comes to work.

I also agree with an amnesty for illegals, because at the moment they are not contributing, but are still here. So might as well get them contributing. TC

My best friend is Hungarian - been here 10 years, worked from day 1, paid his taxes, never claimed a penny back and has done well for himself. Why should he be penalised in any way ? That is the kind of ethic we should be trying to instill in our youngsters !

TC They pay their taxes just like everybody else, why should they be punished?? I agree proposals could be made for future immigrants, that way they know the criteria before they decide to enter the country but it would be unfair to punish immigrants already living here who have worked in the UK for years. jacknife 2,005
Problem with making illegals legal is they become another drain on the system.....entitled to benefits Ilegals should be arrested and held untill they are deported I would also give Eu citizens a period of time to find work or return home.....There are thousands and thousands of polish and Romanians leaching of the system
