PeskyWabbits 464
Not only am I combating rats (seem to have got numbers down) in my duck run, but now bl**dy magpies The mesh in the wire is only about 6" x 2.5" but they are squeezing through. I got this blighter in the top of a tree, about 30 yards from where I was standing. It jumped to another branch then dropped on to my Metro bonnet with a loud thud, then on to the floor. No twitching. Going to have to be more vigil, they normally see me heading down the path, and are gone, shaking their match boxes as they go. Another kill for my classic HW35. I don't why I bought other guns, oh yes, it's that compulsion that we all have. Pesky 4 Quote Link to post

Underdog 2,337
Good for you. As for buying others, it is an illness of which no known cure exists. The only treatment there is that gives temporary relief from the condition is the Mrs tongue!! Quote Link to post

PeskyWabbits 464
Got another one today at tea time. It was lucky as they had already seen me outside but had worked themselves up into a frenzy. They follow a pattern, they sit on a neighbour's leylandii until the jackdaws go in first, then they circle round (when they saw me) then drop down on to the duck run roof. They have worked out how to wiggle through the wire. I got this one as it was jiggling its botty through the wire. It propelled itself up but fell dead against my shed. No death throws or twitching. Shame as it must be one of this year's hatch, the feather colours are so vibrant. But everyday another egg is lost. Today it was like a festival campsite, broken shells all over. If I am lucky enough to get ducklings, how long before they succumb to these varmints? 3 Quote Link to post

Like riding in a horse and cart though excellent - great choice of vehicle!!! wouldn't swap mine for anything else! I have a MK3 Metro as my daily driver, old cars are more reliable. But the Land Rover is a necessary truck. Thirsty, slow, unwieldy but essential for moving lots of stuff around and pulling big heavy things. Mine is ex-RAF, so it has a dial switch for the lights - for convoys etc where you can drive just with the back, or just the front, or normal so you can see and be seen Quote Link to post
