Lab 10,979
What's the legalities of burning your own rubbish. I bring lot of old fencing, hedges and stuff from jobs back to my place and burn it. Sometimes it mounts up and it's a fair fire. Safe but still large. Just wondered if it was ok legally to do it? johnny boy68 11,726
Different areas have different rules, location is usually the big thing.
sussex 5,777
As long as it doesn't cause a nuisance to your neighbours , you don't burn household waste ( it causes pollution ) or create smoke that causes a danger on roads I'm sure your ok ..well down here anyway , you might be different up the top end of the country .. Lab 10,979
Just too add in not in a built up area......I have a small holding in the middle of the forestry. It's never bothered me before but the trees are being clear felled at the moment. Great that I'm getting a nice view but not so good that people might be able to see the fire now. Guest Navek
Location is key but that normal only applies when in built up areas like smoke free zones ect ect however fires are aloud on allotments small holdings farms ect ect aslong as the do not decrease road visibility to a percentage .. Not sure where you are but down near us it's basically if you carnt see 100yards down the road then it's bad and you get moan during at lol

Only down side is you get everybody coming up taking wood and they get a look around the place when they are at it. Too many dodgy ones.
