skycat 6,174
Has she been in season recently? Bitches often go a bit strange if they're having a phantom pregnancy. If she's fine in herself and not losing weight then reduce her food. If she appears not right in any way get her to the vet.

juckler123 707
Your feeding her too much tyson No seriously my old line of dogs all stashed food and the pups no different if theres excess about its totally natural i honestly believe in some cases they prefer flesh rotting as it was meat theyd bury most not a good habit if your gonna take the dog out at any time only to find theyve dug up their stash and eaten it Just feed her less mate dogs will eat a lot more than they actually need and if theres a good supply its only natural to save some for later i like things like that in a strain like a bitch that throws up for her pups all good signs to me mate. If shes fine weight wise theres nowt to worry about if it bothers you cut down her portions and fast her for 24 hours a week that usually gets the appetite back

Guest SJM
My collie bitch has done it on and off since a youngster, and now that she has young pups she will take a rabbit into her bed, eat a bit of it and then make a little stash once shes had enough, in the corner of the bed, she gets the bedding and heaps it up into a wee pile, watching her do it is hilarious nothing to worry about at all, some bitches are just more "primitive" than others Edited December 4, 2007 by SJM
