philpot 5,031
I just wondered if you guys have a lack of pigeon in your area, the reason I ask is that my pea field is just not being visited apart from perhaps half a dozen birds a day. I was down at the clay shoot last night and the guys there were saying exactly the same but nobody knows what they are feeding on apart from clover. In the horse field over my garden wall, we can get up to 70 birds on the clover, sadly I can't shoot it because of the horses and a few sheep in the field. I have been up to my perm EVERY day to check things over but every day is the same, even the farmer has switched off the gas guns as there is nothing to damage the peas. 90% of the other fields in my area are rape with no interest from the woodies..........................very strange. mattwhite 1,993
Same over here Phil. If I see 15 birds together I'm having a brilliant day, it's just ones and twos here and there. Quote Link to post

Nicepix 5,650
I've been watching one in our large conifer tree. It flies round one side, picks a twig and then flies around the other side to build its nest. I'd have thought that they'd be done with that by now. They are not common over here like in the UK. I hardly ever see a flock of more than ten. Even out in the vast arable areas there aren't any about. Quote Link to post
