If AJ had got him out of there early he'd have got ripped apart, he got a good workout and won.....Job done.   AJ seems to be fighting a losing battle at times, 17 fights all ko's and a World Champ

He boxed under the name the beast from the east (end) .... He had 126 professional fights and managed to finish 2 of them which is a testament to his courage .....   Go on the beast .........

I never did like them same day weigh ins !

What people fail to realise with Eddie Hearn is he isnt doing anything that the likes of Mickey Duff/Jarvis Astaire/Barret etc were not doing before him......he,s just A, better at it than they were.....and B,he doesnt hide everything behind closed doors like they did.......so he,s a bit brash and cocky so what.......whatever he is doing is working as the sport in this country is bigger and more successful than it ever has been.......the questions he gets asked publically Duff,s answer would of been " get the f**k away from me before i set my henchmen on you ".......yet Hearn gets penalised for doing his business in the public domain ive always said theres a lot that the general public should not see or hear within the sport of boxing and he is a good example of why.

As for Golovkin/Eubank......i agree i think he will be beaten comfortably.......but if theres one thing Eubank has inherited from the ol man its his chin i wouldnt mind betting that he would hear the final bell.

From a boxing fans point of view the differance between Duff and the Hearns always seemed to me was hype...all promotors hype fighters...just Duff came across more interested in making good fights ...just take a look at the middleweights i grew up with like Sibbson Minter and Finnegan...they all fought the best...all 3 fought and lost against Hagler (Finnegan lost to him twice in 6weeks both times on cuts)...and then look at the Hearns first big star Eubank snr...who dodged all the big names in the division and as i remember it gave up his WBC belt rather than fight them...yet years down the line Chris Eubank is a household and show business name and the previous three are pretty much forgotten...yet who in reality was the better boxer?!...thats the hype of the Hearns in my opinion...saturdays card is a good example...its not about making the best fights for them.

Yes but Eddie Hearn is a boxing promoter......his sole purpose in life is to promote/hype fights and fighters.....he doesnt actually know much about boxing.........Mickey Duff was a manager/trainer/matchmaker/promoter he did the lot.......Duffs greatest asset was timing.....he got his fighters title shots at the perfect time probably the best example being Lloyd Honeyghan beating Don Curry in what is still possibly the greatest win from any British fighter in America in history......to have that ability Duff had needs more than just sales patter........the game has changed you wont find Eddie Hearn working a corner i agree those 3 names were as good if not better than the names around today but thats how the sport has evolved and crossed over into mainstream showbiz almost...........dont worry im old school the same as you mate i dont like it.... but i understand it.

I understand it i just dont thinks its necessarily the best for boxing...in my opinion boxers make boxing...not promoters...Tyson Fury proves the truth of that...winning the sports biggest prize against the odds through hard graft and determination...good fights sell themselves...that was why Duff was so successful...he used his knowledge of the sport inside and out to make the best fights...what Hearn is doing stacking out these PPV cards with mis-matches will make him money from a certain type of fan in the short term...but i feel will turn fans off in the long run...you only have to look at the copycat circus acts like Hayes last fight to see that...boxings doing well in Britain right now...i just dont think thats down to Hearn.

As competition yes boxers make boxing......but the reason boxing in Britain is currently going through an all time high in popularity and success is not because we have better fighters than we,ve ever had before as your 3 middleweight examples show......its because the money being generated in Britain is beyond virtually anywhere else in the world and that comes through great marketing.............dont get me wrong i cant stand all these silly conversations at the table and suchlike and im totally with you when it comes to our expectations of what constitutes a good contest but the manner in which the whole sport in Britain is run today is vastly different from years ago....Duffs inside knowledge and connections made him aware of Don Currys struggles enabling him to time Honeyghans rise and ultimate challenge for the title and big money fights perfectly......today our managers/promoters dont target the best champions out there to take the title off they target the weakest and most easily gained title in order to get the belt back to Britain and defend it in a football stadium.......ultimately the financial goal is the same its just done in a more obvious way dont forget a fighter like Curry was undisputed with all 3 belts nowadays im not really even sure how many belts there are......Hearn is blamed by people for simply being good at what he does thats all.

Was at the weigh in at Covent Garden today so refreshing to see a bunch of lads just get on and off the scales with no drama or push shoving contests, out in the open air it was like old times......Eubank made a complete dick of himself again,Benns boy weighed 6 or 7 pound more than his opponent who looked like he,d just been dragged off a local building site,as did Dillian Whytes opponent......there was some serious tension between him and big Josh....man them boys dont like each other :D

Think the fight of the night could be Groves/Murray interesting little dust up there.
