jigsaw 11,865
Clowns of europe ,the whole world is singing the praise of the fans, and you got nothing good to say..we should have been flinging bottles right? and 10 of our lads kicking the fuk out of one downed bloke....instead they sang a lullaby to a child who at any time never felt nervous or cried..we should have been busting up bars and street furniture and causing mayhem, they surrounded a model in France and sang a few tunes to her and the whole time she laughed and filmed it all.....tll us exactly what should the lads have done,if not fight with innocent passers by ,maybe then walk quietly to and from the games withouh making a sound?do us a favour DS,dont ever bother coming over here to visit UNLESS you get with the programme,WHICH IS, to have a good drink and have a bit of CRAIC ,withouth throwing a fist or two..and you might then go back and say them boys over there sure do enjoy life when they can.

gnasher16 30,121
Much as its nice to see fans with a smile on their face and enjoying their football this " worlds most popular fans " act does become a bit tiresome after a while.....personally i think Roy Keane got it just about right when he questioned why they would celebrate losing.........ok we get it the Irish like a drink and a singsong.......but essentially sport is about winning and losing the whole smiley Irishman thing does wear a bit thin after a while......or maybe Keane is just too competetive for the Irish is he a sporting icon over there or not i dont know ? boyo 1,398
Gnasher. I dont know enough bout footy to comment on footy side of things but ive been to loads of Rugby matches at all levels & apart from the actual Rugby played the atsmophere before during & after the match is fantastic ie No worry of Violence etc. Ive taken my lad to matches since he was a nipper & never had to worry for his safety no matter what the final score on the pitch. If this is how the Irish Fans behave even after loosing then All Credit To Them ? Gnasher I understand where you're coming from but we never had any expectations of getting very far as we're very much aware of our limitations on the football field lol. It's pretty much a holiday with a couple of matches thrown in. We'd be over the moon if we win but if we don't it's a case of oh well feck it we tried now let's go have some beer. It's definitely not celebrating losing we just don't get to melancholic over it.
