Anyone use these, there from auz, loads of colours, good for trout I hear, im heading to good spot tomorrow, hopefully bag a few.

Used taz devils a few times over the years, not caught much on them, no confidence in them. can't beat a mepp or 30mm rapala for trout.

Caught heaps of trout trawling them behind a boat, try fluro pink good all rounder, Rapala are good too. Cant

Thanks for the input lads, was using mepps before, only couple times ive been out, new to fishing.

 

Im fishing river foyle in donegal, big spot, theres a few great salmon rivers, running into the foyle, were im going tomorrow, is a spot were the river deele flows into foyle, gonna try were they meet.

 

Got some sand eels aswell for bita float action.

 

Any tips casting, setting up etc welcome thanks lads

Yes mate i like to make a lot of my own gear. O pic some i made, some bought, I make my own fly's also and rabbiting gear.

I like to fish mepp upstream, fish toby up snd across, rap across and round, also float rap down stream under bushes etc. Metal devon upsteam. People have there own ideas, best is what you have success and confidence in. I like to fish baits with braid and a couple of foot of mono, i fish as light as possible for the species targeted and conditions as it presents the bait better. Last season i was fishing with a 5'6" greys ultralite with 4lb braid. I was using a 30mm rap fishing for trout, i hooked a good salmon well into the teens, fresh fish, i could not do much with it, kept working into me then it would be off again back to its lie. It took off last time and rolled on the top and threw the bait, it must have worked the hook hold bigger with having it on so long. From when i hooked it till it come off was 1 1/2 hours. Not something i want to repeat but it just shows you can work a big fish with light gear.

Zo Zuri pin lures are a good bait for trout had salmon and sea trout on them also. Quill minnow work well also.

My wee guys only 11 and I let him read the fishing section as he's fishing daft after reading ur wee posts he's now wanting to order one off everything ur saying lol
