trenchfoot 4,243
we change our government too slow these days. Due to apathy after a change, the politics we needed "last time" around are allowed to continue for too long. In the '70's we needed Maggie, but her time was done by the mid '80's. those who tried, and failed to over throw her lost sight of the prize and fell by the wayside. When Blair took over in the late '90's, it was too late for socialism. New labour sold the working man down the swanny. But as an economy we were better off. The country ignored the signs of fake economic management and when we needed the brakes putting on government spending and immigration, we crossed our fingers in the hope that it would all sort itself out. We got "Cameron" lot too late to put those brakes on. And failed again to see where it was heading with extended austerity and cronyism. Its a visous circle that will keep biting us on the arse.

yorkshire 151
It started with Thatcher who took away the feeling of community and made folk think the I'm alright Jack because I'm doing ok but fook everyone else stance was right. Social Morals took a dip around this time Then Bliar and his wife sold the Country down the river to make them and their Ilk rich beyond their needs. And it's carried on to the point where politicians blatantly break the law for money and power knowing nothing will be done. The system is fooked Those that work within it and hide behind it are shameless fookers more so than lay bouts off the estates ect . My grandfather said years ago once Politics became a full time job and career instead of a working man doing it part time for the betterment of their community the system was then flawed and corrupt. Career politicians only care for themselfs and money. Bang on , but let's not forget the corrupt law enforcement they employ to do the dirty work to make sure we're shafted .

WILF 47,353
At the end of the day it doesn't who's to "blame" for the state of the country, we have a way to remove politicians we don't like and it doesn't involve gunning them down in the street. We're supposed to be a civilised democracy remember? Ahh, but as I have said before mate.....it's only your ordinary Joe Soap who is playing by the f***ing rules Politics has not been very civilised to the people it's meant to represent, it's treated them like complete shit actually.

trenchfoot 4,243
Well if we remain those who voted so will have to be able to look themselfs in the mirror Their kids and grand kids in the eye when they realise the monumental f**k up they made 5-10 yrs down the line . that could be said for either outcome of the vote Max.
Lenmcharristar 9,841
Just ask yourself since we joined the common market has GB become a better or worse place to live ? Do we feel safer on our streets ? Has our Industries been protected ? Have our politicians became more akin to its electorate Or further removed ? Ask yourself the questions that really matter Don't fall for the political scaremongering And it's only going to keep going down the pan if we remain . praise be to allah
