jwe 10
I have a 2 year old Patterdale bitch that is starting to figure this ground work out. I have used her to retrieve shot badgers, that fall back in their holes, but never showed much interest in entering a hole. Went out the other night and caught one running down the two track. She chased it in a shallow hole and engaged, took a little abuse and I pulled her out shot the badger and let her go back in and chew on it. About 3 days later she found a fresh hole and entered spent 20 minutes under ground. I could hear the battle for about 15 minutes and all went quiet. I started digging and before I could get there she came out. Once again she took quite a bit of abuse but had a lot more blood on her than she was leaking. The main question I have is after being under ground she picked up a real hack. She hacked 20 times a day and puked up clear liquid for a couple days then just hacking. She was a little slow for a couple days but ate and drank normal. A week later she still has a mild hack. Is this just from eating a lot of dirt. Quote Link to post
TOPPER 1,809
looking at that bite on the neck id say it took a crunch and has some windpipe damage it will cure itself in time 3 Quote Link to post

jwe 10
Thanks for the input, she is back to as normal as she get. I do believe it was just a hard bite to the windpipe. Quote Link to post
Treehands. 1,379
Now the hack is over, turn your attention to it only doing 20minutes. They sure do sort the men from the boys 9 Quote Link to post
