Looking For A Beddy Whippet...just Lost Our Old Girl

Recommended Posts

We sadly lost our old Beddy Whippet bitch last week at 17, and my wife and I are looking for a pup, or maybe an older dog to join our family.

We can offer a good, active country home, and plenty of rabbiting/mooching. We have a terrier, chickens and a cat, as well as a couple of ferrets, and the dog would live in.

I prefer Whippet Dam/Beddy Sire, or even better, second cross if possible. Blue, broken/roughcoat would be our choice, to make around 21/22"tts.

If anyone knows of a litter, or perhaps an older dog, please let us know. Not too good on the computer, but a friend suggested we post here as there are a lot of good Lurcher men on this site. We live in Gloucestershire but happy to travel for the right dog. Very good home assured.

Thanks very much.

So, we drove down to St Austell in Cornwall this week to pick up our new pup.

She's coming up to 8 months, and she's Bedlington/Whippet x Deerhound/Greyhound,, she's 21"tts at the moment, and is the image of her Dam (beddy/whippet) who we met...I reckon she'll make around 23". I'll try and put up some pics once I work out how to do it.

I'm pleased with her, she's a steady pup and she's very eager to please so training should be a happy experience for her. She didn't whimper the first night, probably because the wife slept downstairs with her haha! She's on chicken and brown rice and is eating well, her recall's spot on and she's good with our other dogs and our cat, ignores the chickens too - so all good so far.
