There is a very good reason that so many black men are in the correctional system in the US.......because they are the ones doing all the f***ing crimes !!

And let's be honest, if some dude is wielding a knife and I have a glock I'm not gonna take any chances with my own life to protect his "rights", I'm gonna plug him and worry about it after !

It's a very simple process, if a police officer says "lay on the ground" then you do it because once you don't you have placed yourself outside the law and all bets are off......you effectively remove your own rights yourself by failure to comply.

That's my understanding of American law enforcement thinking anyway.

Don't think anyone of us would disagree with any of that mate.

But I think the op was getting at the totally un armed men getting shot for nothing

As I said mate I just think it's a different mentality, I watched a thing and they interviewed some Texas sheriff and his logic was this.....we have rules to live as civilised people, we allow some people the authority to enforce those rules, comply with the rules of those rules will no longer apply to you and you forfeit your right to those rules.

This can be as simple as an officer saying "get down on the floor".....if you don't then in their mind I guess there must be a serious reason why.......now the cruncher is, do you want to risk your life finding out that reason or do you assume that it's serious and put a bullet in them to be on the safe side?

Me too mate......I got stopped years ago on Vauxall bridge in my van and they were pointing 2 machine guns at me, it was in the IRAs last hurrah before the peace process......it's a very sobering feeling !!

Talking of statistics, I'm sure I read that most gun related murders in America were black on black and gang related. It is very unfortunate and probably due to the poverty and culture that has developed in some communities.

Yep is true, is something like 13% of the population are responsible for 90% of the gun crime ( not sure on the exact figures as I looked it all up a while ago ) so if you take that off the gun deaths plus the suicides then the gun death rate comes way back down.

you have just made a lot of enemies in here by releasing that statistic lololololol. All the lefties will be blaming the gun, not the black on the attack

Perhaps it would be best if the police didn't shoot armed and dangerous black men in case it messes the statistics up.

They can shoot all the armed and dangerous black men they want I'm more concerned with 102 unarmed black men killed in 2015. I'm just as concerned about the 127 people of other races that were killed by the police in America 2015. This seems like a big problem they should probably address.

The schizophrenic guy that got shot i think had a history of attacking the police and did have a screwdriver in his hand and if you watch the video and hear his mother say what he said he was going to do and being in a confined space it does make it a little less black and white. Now any unarmed human that gets killed is a tragedy but remember we are not in the police's shoes we dont see the risks that they go through every day and its not just white officers involved either and its just a shame the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement dont make as much noise when most of the black deaths are comited by other black people

I know it is probably minority over majority but just watch it on iplayer or whatever before you comment.

 

I wouldnt say I was cuddles and smiles with other races and communities etc but I certainky wouldnt see myself as racist. However some of the video footage in this of a human against a defenceless human is shocking and the fact a lot of these got away with it is scary.
