Still have a Mitchell 301S that i use fir floater fishing, had 3 of them in the 80's my first proper carp reels

Used to love em, still have a couple in the shed but never use them now.

Any float work on the river I'll use a closed face, got 2 new abus last season a 507 and 506 very good reels for putting a stick through.

Had the daiwa 125m before, but using them on the tidal over the years hasn't been kind to them.

 

Still got a real soft spot for the Mitchell match though, it was the reel to have when I was a kid, but even an average modern reel peforms better IMO, and you won't find anything to beat the new shimano match reels, if you've got money to spend!!
