sussex 5,777
Had a call from the keeper saying the corvids had set up camp on the new maize cover and they needed persuading to move of .Set up at about 6am , by which time there was several hundred busy wrecking the cover crop .With only half a dozen decoys and my new ff5 flapper i set to ..nothing really wanted to decoy in but eventually one got to close and I had a rook for the flapper , what a difference that made . It really gave them some confidence , even with my lousy shooting I picked up 51 , on top of that 7 or 8 dropped in the next field that I couldn't get and I gave 8 or 9 to one of the other lads for him to set up on another field ..really needed four or five guns out to keep them on the move but didn't do to bad and I was well impressed with the ff5 .. 5 Quote Link to post

sussex 5,777
Another bang at the crows today resulted in about 70 casualties ...my mate had a go in the maize hide while I went up onto the laying field which had just been mowed ..there was literally thousands on it , the numbers this year seem to be building up to unbelievable numbers ..with the birds to wood it won't be long before they find the feeders and start hammering them as well ..going to have to organise some proper days on them The ff5 worked well again , a couple of floaters and the casualties as decoys see them coming in for a look in between the thunder storms , the jackdaws in the wind were good sport ..even managed to knock a few down ..the rooks come in against the wind over a wide hedge fairly low and slow and paid the price .... 1 Quote Link to post

Yokel Matt 918
Nice going - farmer friend that my house backs into asked me to have a go at the crows. About 500 odd on some recent hay cutting and they're starting to bounce on his wheat the next field over. Ff5 sounds the business, I'll need all the help I can get with my cartridge to kill ratio!
