177 Or 22 For Decoying Or Shooting From Hide

Hi just wondering if all youre shooting was done from a hide where youre able to workout ranges that quarry is at pretty much from youre decoys baits position would you use one calibre over another?Always been a 22 man im gettting a weirauch 97k after having one a few yaers ago and im toying with idea of 177,any thoughts thanks

.22 97 shoots sweeter than .177 but same goes for any Springer. If you know your ranges and hold over shouldnt matter which, I'd stick with the .22 if that's what your used too.

Dont know why but I personally would favour a .177 PCP from a hide on birds, with the possibility of long periods waiting around and such but I do prefer .22 overall.

I've only ever used the 22 in the past , although used to sheet at a metal plate target with 177 for a pub team for a bit when I was younger.

 

Just bought a rifle in 177 so hoping to get out on crows soon n have a pop

Id say .22 its what your used to. Also if your in a hide you can set markers at diff ranges and know how far they are so you can know which mildot to use. Get a 97 in .22 you wont regret it. Better than a tx anyway LMAO
