Why do you not like rules walshie lol

Depends who makes the rules really mate. I don't really need some old writings to tell me how to live my life.

I had to live by my mothers rules or I'd have had my head beaten in.

Thats your choice mate, so you live by your own reasoning, how do you know its not flawed.

How do you know yours isn't? And don't say some bloke wrote it.

I dont either, but id rather trust jesus.

the only real rules are the rules/laws of nature and its easily provable. Ill do you a deal, ill break the ten commandments all in one day and you dont drink water for a month, or jump off a building etc

I seriously doubt the "laws of nature" would permit you to break the ten commandments all in one day.

I think rather than scientists "proving" the bible correct, it's more of a case of the bible-believers conveniently interpreting the bible to match any new discoveries. After all, there is so much contradiction in there you could make it agree with or disagree with just about anything.

Serious question for Francie here.

As there are however many religions in the world, is each religion arrogant enough to think they are the only ones that are correct and all the other religions and non-religions are wrong?

Are they all worshipping the same god under different guises?

Or does it all boil down to personal opinion rather than indoctrination?

I watched a video the other day of Richard Dawkins chatting with Father George Coyne of the Catholic Church. Dawkins asked Coyne "Do you really believe in the virgin birth?" Coyne gave (IMO) a refreshingly good answer. He said "Whether i believe in it or not, doesn't make it true or not."

Surely you don't have to be philosopher to answer a question about your beliefs. My big science brain tells me they are all deluded, but that doesn't make it so.
