Barbarian1990 220
If there is a God and he can sit by why horrible things happen to nice people i don't want anything to do with him regardless of his reasons so I'm going to carry on sinning and have a brilliant time while I'm here because nobody can be certain what's going to happen tomorrow. My reply would be......"why not?"If you ask why then you have to know the why not IMHO Sorry I don't understand your point??The point is why not sit by and let stuff happen?.......nobody asked human being to do this shit......in fact we even got a manual on how not to do shit stuff and live a life of happiness and half of us are too stupid to even follow that.......so why should a "God" keeping wiping humanity's arse ? I see, I ment if God is all seeing and he can stand by and watch a young kid get raped or murderd and do nothing about it, he isn't that special and maybe that young kid has read the "manual" but still gets abused?? WILF 46,787
Free will......we all have it, the abuser has it.......so does the drug taker or the drunk or the smoker or the serial killer.......the effect of their actions on themselves and others has no meaning to them. They could stop.....but they don't A poor little child don't want to be attacked A wife don't want a black eye from her old man cause he is pissed An old lady dont want to get smashed by a junkie Everything has consequences.......it's wether men chose to take responsibility for their actions instead of saying "somebody stop me"

If this is created by a "God" and people are ok with that because free will.... I'm glad I'm not a believe. To each their own but I'm yet to speak to anybody who can answer my questions with anything other than quotes that mean nothing in a sensible society.
WILF 46,787
You go out to your car every morning.......so do I.......we know we are killing the world when we start it, we know a load of kids got blown to bits for the oil to put in it and yet we drive off without a second thought.......we don't give a shit.......I'm as guilty as everyone else........ So should god stop us driving our car or does he want to see if his great creation, the highest functioning being on the planet is going to figure it out on its own and learn from it ? As an old boy used to say to me "you only ever remember the mistakes that cost you"........humanity isn't as clever as that at the moment

I'm no expert in oil but I'm 100% sure nobody needs to die to get it so they get blown up because of greed not for my car ?
WILF 46,787
Really ?.......do you think so? I'm not trying to convince you, I'm just saying how I see it. I'm not really into "degrees of shit".......if somethings shit, it's shit and we have to be man enough to admit it.
Barbarian1990 220
I see its shit and I'm a big believer in natural selection hahaha. I just can't get my head around it if I saw somebody beating a women or kid I would stop it or put my body on the line to stop it. If I knew a "man" who witnessed it but didn't stop it I wouldn't class him a man he'd be as low as the scum doing the beating. That's my view and it's the reason why I can't believe in a greater power. I enjoy talking to sensible folk like yourself who put their point across without expecting me to agree ?
DogFox123 1,379
Does the Loch Ness monster or big foot or mermaids exist? Serious question. All like God are well documented and well known and can't have come frome nothing ? About as real as Pamela Andersons' tits....
The Seeker 3,048
I once worked with a bloke and this is not a friend of a friend who told somone I was there having lunch with him. We were in a group of lads eating a sandwich talking about all sorts and religion came up, some like this thread thought it was a pile of crap etc etc. Anyway after much convincing by a couple of the lads who knew the story , he told us about his own experience. When he was a young man (he was late fifties when I was talking to him) he was playing rugby and had an horrendous accident on the pitch stopped breathing and his heart stopped. He remembers total serenity, rising above himself and seeing people gathered round him working on his body, he said he felt really peaceful and kept slowly rising no fear just calm and at ease. Anyway they managed to resuscitate him he felt a huge pain and what he described was sucked back down into his body feeling terrible and was taken to hospital. He stayed there for several days Something really bothered him for some time trying to come to terms with what happened about this so called out of body experience, he read up loads and was surprised to find how common it was, but there was something specific, he remembered seeing when the incident was happening and he was riding above himself he saw something very strange, an old pram on top of the flat roof of the clubhouse, weeks later he got a ladder climbed up and was shocked to see the pram laying there as he had seen it, it couldn't be seen from the ground. He was very matter of fact he said to believe him or not but he didn't really mind he was happy he knew what he knew.
DogFox123 1,379
One thing that makes me wonder if we move onto a better place after we die. Why are humans so fearful of death if after we pass we move onto a better place? Doesn't make sense if you ask me.....
secretagentmole 1,701
I don't know about any of that mate, I just think all the life in the world is so complicated and awesome in it's design that it just can't be an accident. JMHO thats a good point wilf, I believe in God myself, and if it's not true how come history can be cross referenced with the bible, then be said as lies when lots of it is true?? The bible was written as a way of explaining the world without science. hence God, Angels, Giants etc. If there was a cataclysmic event like a global flood for instance then all faiths should have a descriptive of it at roughly the same time period, which they do! king 11,972
There is no way any of us can ever know one way or the other, at least while we are 'alive'.so what about the people who have died and come back??? All their stories say very similar events happening, what about the cokeville miracle???What ,,heading towards a bright light.....Everybody knows that story,,,,,and because we all know it,,,it's a common story in other words,,we end up telling the same story if we nearly die Let me put it better..... If we started a new story of nearly dying,,,,let's say heading towards a red light,,,I bet if enough people came up with that story,,,you would start a new story of heading towards a red light.... At the end of life there is obviously some Brian activity in the moments just befor death,,,and just after,,possibly just milli seconds,,,,but enough time to dream ,,,or imagin. DMT is released by the brain in the dying moments and explains ALL near death experiences. It is one of the most potent hallucinogens in existence. How much is it for a gram. I believe in a higher being and I certainly am afraid of dying. If it's our chosen path our instincts would welcome death, that is not the case for the majority of people imo. Agreed people are afraid of change of any kind, and this lets face it is the ultimate change in consciousness.
