WILF 46,787
If there is a God and he can sit by why horrible things happen to nice people i don't want anything to do with him regardless of his reasons so I'm going to carry on sinning and have a brilliant time while I'm here because nobody can be certain what's going to happen tomorrow. My reply would be......"why not?" If you ask why then you have to know the why not IMHO
Barbarian1990 220
Craig I'd say at a guess the horrible things that happen are Orcesteated by horrible people not God We were all given free will Wev just been led down the garden path by horrible money grabbing power hungry evil people Some say the devils work . My point was if God is all seeing and so incredible how can he stand by and watch it? Not my idea of somebody to look up to.
Francie 6,368
If you buy into the great flood then answer me this... Where did all that water come from and where did it go? The water came from inside the earth kanny, look at the vocanic vaults, the big ones in the oceans, thats were it came from, in the subterenean depths of the earth, plenty of evidence for this, theres still wanter underneath there now, the water came out of the earth an filled the world. Francie 6,368
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Or are we changing the story to suit .. your right in that yes there's a lot of Water in the subterranean levels but it generally obeys the laws of gravity and stays there. johnny boy68 11,726
Gets a bit tiresome at times imo. I disagree for folk like me who have an inquisitive nature i never get tired of reading different folks views on things like this thats how we learn isnt it......it must get tiresome for folk who think they have all the answers to these type of million dollar questions but what is it they say if your tired of learning your tired of living.Cmon gnash it's the same people saying the same thing they said in the 100+ page thread and the numerous since then, you're not learning nothing new. That's what I meant by tiresome.

Hydrothermal vents, there called, hot enough to melt lead. Edited June 8, 2016 by Francie

Yeah I know all that Francis but that's just part of the natural water cycle and it may cause localized flooding and all that but world wide flooding to a degree of 25ft above the summit of Everest to cleanse the earth so a 600 year old man can reseed it with the millions and millions of species he has on his boat that he built ....I'm open minded but I will be honest with you I'm struggling with that one . Mary 352
God gave us free will, once you follow his rules lol, not very free. If the earth is billions of years old and the universe older, then why did God wait so long to create us considering we've only been here for 100,000 years or so, and where are all the miracles and wonders that were in the Old Testament go, vanished with evolution of intellect maybe? i genuinely tried to believe and have faith but there are too many question marks and proofs to continue. The Ten Commandments, divine or not is a good enough set of rules to live by, what will be will be in the end.
Astanley 11,568
Not a believer myself ,but there are times when I wish I was . Sometimes I am envious of peace of mind a belief in a deity must bring to those who are lucky enough to believe.
