terryd 8,422
not a clue but with docs tell them what you want rather than let them fob you off

Tiercel 6,986
Before you see the doctor for stress, have a little think. How will the fact that you have suffered stress impact on your life style. If you hold a SGC or FAC you could possibly lose them. A lot of employers now want to know if you have had medical problems previously or even ongoing ones. It could cost you a job in the future. It is not as simple as just getting a sick note, in this computerised age every little thing we do it recorded, until either it is hacked or can be used against us. Brewman 1,192
Possibly go down the route of exhaustion where you are finding it difficult to get out of bed and do certain everyday physical tasks ie carrying a coal bucket etc. That should get you off for a while without risking a FAC. All the best mucker.
Giro 2,648
Just tell them straight mate.. Work related stress is recognised & can really impact on your life.. Just say you can't face going in and need some time off,as you can't do your job justice at this time.. Say it's effected your sleep and your not quite as resilient as you previously were.. You'll get signed off and GP will recommend rest, exercise and good dietary intake.. If your worried about SGC or FAC don't mention anxiety or low mood.. If you are anxoius & low it's best being honest and getting yourself better.. Hope your situation improves..

neil cooney 10,416
Tell the doctor that your mother-in-law has come to live with you ,that should do it. If that doesn't work tell him she walks around the house naked, that'll definitely do it.

hily 379
Bide your time and try to drop them in it gives you a warm glow. My own experience I had a pay issue that was getting no where so I waited for my monthly one to one meeting with manager and asked him how could I arrange a meet with company managing director who always stated he had an open door for anyone who wanted a meet low and behold the pay issue was sorted within the week and I never even got to meet with the managing director!!! but my gaffer started to be funny with me so I just kept my powder dry and when they started a new bloke who I had to train up to work with me I handed in my notice and left them to figure out how the work I did was done .It would go against the grain for me to go on the sick as I never lost more than a few days off work in forty years so if your a daft bugger like me and think the company gives two hoots for you think again and try to get a bit of revenge however so small it may be.A.T.B.
