I had a greyhound bitch that lived in. Like Gaz said above about his brindle bitch , she was adept at stealing food without making it look like she had. I remember one time the missus had prepared a w

Hi Dan,...I think the type of Jukel you are thinking of, would be a Kannichorer,..(Kannies being Pheasants or domestic fowl)...

the wife left some toast on a plate by the chair today went to the kitchen and peeped round the corner. The lurchers wandered over to the plate had a little sniff then looked over his shoulder. Saw th

I once preped a batch of 50 Yorkshire puddings for a Christmas meal at school. Left them to cool over night on the worktop and returned in the morning to find 4 left one of which was Half eaten. Two very guilty but bloated dogs tucked up in their beds, strange thing is they never nicked another thing since or before that incidence. I take this memory as a great advert for my Yorkshire puds but at the time I was less than amused atb

I had a bitch would steal strawberrys growing in the vegetable patch. She even went to the milk delivery's in the morning and took off the foil on every bottle and drank as much as her tongue could reach! Not to mention the majority of the Stilton we bought for Christmas!

Bloody dog today reminded me of this thread, collected 4 eggs from hens ,to save juggling them whilst I changed from wellies to shoes,I walked to kitchen door, and stuck my arm round and put them on worktop, walked back to shed changed footwear came back in,toddler distracted me so I forgot about the eggs while later went to back door,an theres egg shell on path outside, stood there pondering an it clicks look round an there's 3 eggs on the side, one of which is resting right on edge of worktop about to drop n smash.

So while later I go out, come back home , to be greeted by a dog covered round its mouth an feet in dark substance, go out back to see what it's been digging ,and see that it an wifes tea cup chihuahua have been digging under chicken pen gate, trying to reach the left over pasta other side I threw to hens,so now the doodle smells badly of chicken poop.

My old bedlington collie greyhound was a master thief.
He soon learned how to open the fridge and steal the butter and cheese. Luckily he is scared of balloons, so we tied a balloon to the fridge door to stop him.

Also a few year back in my old house we had a large cupboard under the stairs where i kept my freezer. Same dog, would wander out of the living room then wander back in a minute later, then sleep for a bit before wandering out again before coming back in and repeating....wondering what on earth he was up to i decided to sneakily follow him.... He was going into the cupboard under the stairs, opening the freezer then coming back into the living room while the edges of the chicks (day old chicks for the birds of prey) to defrost, going back through and nibbling off the defrosted bits before coming back and waiting for more to defrost!
He was a bloody good hunting dog and is an awesome companion. Although when me and my ex broke up she kept him, and while out on walks he would return with rabbits live to hand, she would take them off him and once he trotted off again she would release them safely lmao

Endless stories.

Lads Saluki x ran away, went down the high St and into the bakers. They backed off and watched while it stole a sausage roll.

Whins dog came in his mothers kitchen window and ate 5 chicken kievs. Left the chips and salad !

My whippet ate a steak straight from the frying pan.!

Collie x has accounted for untold amounts of sandwiches, and various foodstuffs !

I once left a mustard sandwich out to cure a lurcher from thieving food. Came back to find him licking the fridge door !!:laugh:

Haha, great topic Dan.

Had a lurcher that I got in the 90's...my first real lurcher, sire was form UK. Anyway, master, master thief. A few "good ones" were these:

Riding with her off leash along a river bank trail. Lone construction worker sitting peacefully in the distance eating his sandwich in the sun. Zephyr runs by at full tilt and yanks said meal from buddy's hands/mouth at the speed of light. I saw it coming but there was nothing I could do lol. I said sorry to the guy and luckily he didn't flatten me to a pulp.

Another time a housemate made a fresh burger and then sat himself on the deck to enjoy, but the burger was missing. The whole thing, in 1 second. And like that, she was gone too, lol

She was a trouble maker for sure, way too smart, and I was inexperienced in handling such a dog. Her only motivation was finding food, nothing else. Didn't need affection, attention, nothing, just food.

My stag is really well behaved, except one Thanks Giving dinner, he snatched a great prize. We were prepping the table, and he just casually walked by and was able to grab almost a 1/4 turkey slab and just thru it back like a crocodile. Was out of the blue and kind of funny. Being tall and having a mouth at table level has it's advantages sometimes lol
