Not good enough,,,,a bit small,,,,but I'm genralising,,,,

Collie greyhound ,,,or better still collie greyhound back to a whippet greyhound...

And for you out there ,,,you must have some cracking good kelpies at your disposal ,,,,go for one of them over a greyhound and back to a whippet...

Here's a kelpie/grey X whipp/grey

whats everyones thought on a straight cross between a whippet and collie????

cheers

This is an easy first cross to produce...however,..in my opinion,....the end result generally results in a critter that is little more than a mongelised whippet. If the hybrid, favors the Collie,..then you loose out on the Whippets speed,...and if the end result leans towards the Whippet,..then you often say goodbye, to the sagacity and canny ways of the herder....

This can sometimes be overcome by using the large heavyweight , non-ped 'Scratch Racers ' specialist bred speedsters, that have Greyhound blood, flowing through their veins,...but,.having tried and bred, several litters of straight Whippet/Collie (both KC Reg and Non-Ped ' Hard Bloods') ...I find that a line bred hunter/moucher that has retained much of its original Whippet and Collie ancestry,.. which can hunt, catch, and carry,.to be vastly superior to the original first cross...

It takes a few litters to get what I want,.but I feel comfortable using such a purpose bred pal...
